Backend Engineer

About the Role

We need a Backend Engineer to build and scale the APIs and data pipelines that power InsightIQ. You'll work on integrations with major ad platforms (Google Ads, Meta, TikTok), Shopify data syncing, and the infrastructure that feeds our AI insight engine.

What You'll Do

• Design and build RESTful APIs using Node.js and Express
• Build and maintain integrations with Shopify, Google Ads, Meta Ads, and TikTok Ads APIs
• Develop data sync pipelines that normalize cross-platform analytics data
• Work with MongoDB/Mongoose to design schemas and optimize queries
• Implement authentication, authorization, and rate limiting
• Monitor and improve API performance and reliability

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of backend development experience with Node.js
• Strong experience with Express.js and RESTful API design
• Proficiency with MongoDB and Mongoose ODM
• Experience integrating with third-party APIs (OAuth flows, webhooks, rate limits)
• Understanding of security best practices (JWT, input validation, CORS)
• Comfortable with async programming patterns

Nice to Have

• Experience with Shopify APIs or e-commerce platforms
• Familiarity with ad platform APIs (Google, Meta, TikTok)
• Experience with Stripe for subscription billing
• Knowledge of AI/LLM API integration (Anthropic, OpenAI)
